This month, we’re stepping inside the home of Tom Fallon, who has built a reputation for his pared-back, design-led interior styling. Tom loves modern designs and values simplicity. He shows us how the Louis Poulsen AJ Mini Table Lamp adds a sense of elegance to his space.
Tom’s home reflects a modern aesthetic, leaning towards a minimalistic simplicity where every object has purpose. Clean lines, muted tones and a carefully curated mix of furniture and homeware create an atmosphere of calm.
However, Tom’s home is anything but bland. With small details, considered pops of colour and objects that highlight his own personal style Tom has created a space where texture, form and light to take centre stage. In his living space, Tom has chosen the Louis Poulsen AJ Mini Table Lamp in Grey & Brass. The AJ Lamp is one of the most iconic designs by Arne Jacobsen. Originally created for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen in 1957, it’s celebrated for its sculptural, angled shade that offers downward lighting. Tom has arranged it with modern objects that have simple shapes, keeping the lamp's design as the main focus.
What stands out in Tom’s styling is the balance between functionality and personality. He places the AJ Mini Table Lamp on a side table with few accessories. This lets the lamp stand out and shows off its unique design. Tom shows how the lamp works beautifully in a minimal scheme, but is also equally striking layered with complementing and contrasting home accessories.
