From early morning routines to relaxing evening soaks, well-designed bathroom wall lighting can transform even the simplest bathroom into a calming wellness retreat. Positioned around mirrors, beside vanity units or used to soften overhead lighting, designer bathroom wall lights provide practical illumination while creating a more comfortable, luxurious atmosphere.

Our curated collection includes everything from elegant traditional bathroom wall lights to contemporary linear designs and minimalist globes. Each light is rated IP44 or above, making it suitable for bathroom environments where moisture resistance is essential.

Why Choose Designer Bathroom Wall Lights?

Bathroom wall lighting needs to work hard. It should provide clear, practical light whilst also adding to the relaxing atmosphere of evening routines, all whilst being water-resistant. Unlike relying solely on ceiling lighting, bathroom wall lights soften shadows and distribute light more evenly around the room. The designer bathroom wall lights in our collection have all been chosen for their ability to cast flattering light, making shaving, applying make-up and other daily routines far more comfortable.

What makes bathroom wall lighting brilliant?

  • Create flattering light around mirrors and vanity areas
  • Add ambient lighting for a more relaxing atmosphere
  • Reduce harsh shadows often created by ceiling lights
  • Available in flush, sconce and linear designs to suit different layouts
  • IP44 bathroom wall lights and above provide safe lighting in humid environments

Designed for Humid Environments, Built to Last

Bathrooms present unique challenges for lighting, with constant changes in humidity, moisture and temperature. That's why every designer bathroom wall light within our collection is selected not only for its appearance, but also for its suitability in demanding bathroom environments.

You'll find solid brass, glass, aluminium and steel finishes throughout the range, each chosen for its durability as well as its aesthetic appeal. Whether you're looking for polished brass to complement traditional fittings, elegant opal glass bathroom mirror lights that diffuse light beautifully, or sleek contemporary finishes for a modern bathroom, every design is made to perform for years of everyday use.

Every light within this collection meets a minimum IP44 rating, providing protection against moisture and splashes. Many designs exceed this requirement, making them suitable for wet rooms and areas exposed to higher levels of humidity. Combined with premium materials and high-quality components, these luxury bathroom wall lights offer long-lasting performance alongside timeless style.

Bathroom Wall Lights for Every Interior

Every bathroom has different lighting requirements, depending on its size, layout and how the space is used. That's why our collection includes a wide variety of styles suitable for both contemporary renovations and traditional homes.

Within the collection you'll find:

  • Bathroom wall lights for placing either side of a mirror
  • Linear wall lights for contemporary vanity areas
  • Traditional bathroom wall lights for period property renovations
  • Brass bathroom wall lights that introduce warmth and character
  • Minimalist flush-mounted wall lights for modern bathrooms and en-suites
  • Contemporary bathroom wall lights with sculptural forms and architectural details

Designer Brands Within Our Collection

Every designer brand approaches bathroom lighting differently, combining technical performance with its own distinct design philosophy.

For a wide variety of contemporary bathroom wall lights, look to Astro Lighting. Their lights have a clean and modern aesthetic, with many designs rated IP65 making them the perfect choice for wet rooms or installing closer to the bath or shower.

If you’re renovating a period bathroom or prefer a classic look, Old School Electric’s bathroom wall lights are inspired by British heritage designs. Their lighting is available in a wide variety of shapes with either opal glass or clear, prismatic glass shades.

J. Adams bathroom wall lights are entirely made by hand in Birmingham and add a purely luxurious touch to bathrooms. These high-end lights combine premium finishes like antique brass or marble with beautiful opal or frosted glass shades to create beautiful, Art Deco-inspired forms.

Industrial shapes meet modern innovation in DCW Editions’ designs. Each of their modern bathroom wall lights have clever details like adjustable arms, directional lighting or ingenious forms that become a design feature in the room they’re placed in.

Bathroom Wall Light Styling Ideas

Combining ceiling lighting with carefully positioned wall lights helps to create depth and customisable lighting that makes the space feel just as luxurious as it is functional.

For contemporary bathrooms, the Flos Glo-Ball Mini Wall Light is a timeless choice. Its opal glass globe design produces a soft, diffused glow and looks particularly effective installed as a pair on either side of a bathroom mirror, creating balanced and flattering illumination.

For period bathrooms, the Old School Electric Elongated Prismatic Swan Arm Wall Light feels natural. The design combines traditional detailing with practical bathroom suitability. Its classic silhouette complements heritage interiors beautifully, and with a number of different finishes, including antique brass, it can be matched to original features.

If you're designing a contemporary wet room, the Tala Firth Bathroom Wall Light is a sophisticated choice. Featuring an opal globe enclosed within a ribbed glass casing, this IP65-rated design feels both decorative and architectural.

Showroom Tip

Wherever possible, install bathroom wall lights on either side of a mirror rather than directly above it. Placing them at approximately eye level produces more even lighting across the face, making light more flattering and daily routines easier, delivering a high-end spa feel often found in boutique hotels.

What's the difference between IP44 and IP65 bathroom lighting?

It comes down to managing steam and splashing versus direct contact with pressurised water. IP44-rated lights are entirely splash-proof and designed for Zone 2 areas, such as by a mirror or sitting just outside the immediate splash zone. IP65-rated lights offer higher protection against low-pressure water jets, making them mandatory for Zone 1 environments like walk-in wet rooms or directly inside a shower enclosure where water contact is guaranteed.

What are the best materials for bathroom wall light fixtures?

To withstand high humidity and prevent corrosion, avoid cheap plated plastics and choose solid metals like brass and steel paired with glass. Solid brass is inherently rust-resistant and holds its premium finish beautifully over time. Combining it with opal glass or structural ribbed glass ensures the fixture won't pit or tarnish in a steamy environment while delivering a luxury, hotel-grade aesthetic. You’ll find many high-quality brass and glass wall lights in this category.

How high should wall lights be placed next to a bathroom mirror?

For shadow-free illumination, bathroom wall lights should be mounted symmetrically on either side of the glass at approximate eye level or slightly above. The ideal height from the finished floor level should be around 150cm to 165cm. Spacing the fixtures roughly 75cm to 90cm apart allows the light paths to cross perfectly. Avoid placing lights directly above the mirror, as this projects harsh downward glare that creates unflattering shadows under the eyes and chin.
