HAY Palissade Garden Furniture

HAY Palissade Garden Furniture has become one of the most recognisable outdoor collections of the decade. Designed for HAY by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Palissade furniture is characterised by its clean lines and durable steel construction. It has become a firm favourite in modern gardens and outdoor spaces around the world. Browse the complete collection here.

The collection's architectural form is easy to incorporate into gardens, upgrading and adding effortless style to your space. HAY Palissade has proven itself as a versatile garden furniture range, looking great in both urban and country settings. It adds a sculptural element to modern terraces and patios, gravelled courtyards and landscaped lawns.

What are the advantages of choosing the HAY Palissade collection for outdoor furniture?

The Palissade collection was designed by the renowned Bouroullec brothers, known for creating objects that seamlessly integrate in both natural and urban environments. It can be seen in design-led spaces around the UK and was also featured on Grand Designs. Palissade's iconic design makes it a timeless choice that does not follow trends.

Made for modern living, HAY Palissade is durable and weather resistant. The galvanised steel frame is powder-coated with rust resistant paint, making it low maintenance, ensuring it looks good season after season. Metal garden furniture is an excellent choice for those who want garden furniture that can be left out all year round.

What's the difference between powder-coated and hot-dip galvanised finishes?

HAY Palissade comes in five different powder-coated coloured finishes: olive, anthracite, iron red, sky grey and cream white. The powder-coating is extremely durable, weather resistant and creates a flat, highly pigmented surface. This option looks very contemporary and is great for everyday use in urban and country areas.

The hot-dip galvanised finish is created by dipping the aluminium steel frame into hot molten zinc. This bonds with the steel, creating a protective outer layer that even when scratched is weather and rust resistant. This finish is metallic, with a more industrial look.

Top tip: Although both finishes are extremely durable and stand up to the typical UK climate, hot-dip galvanised is better suited to exposed or coastal settings where the corrosion resistant properties protect from rust from the salty air.

Is Palissade Garden Furniture easy to maintain?

Because of its solid metal frame and high-quality finish, Palissade is very low maintenance. To keep it looking its best, quick removal of stains and an occasional wipe down is all that's needed. When not in use, store under HAY Palissade Furniture covers.

Is Palissade suitable for small garden spaces?

HAY Palissade is perfectly suitable as garden furniture for small spaces, making it great as balcony furniture or as furniture for small urban gardens. Certain designs are slimline, such as the Palissade Cone Table and the Palissade Chair. These can be combined to make a cosy and intimate bistro set. Palissade chairs are also stackable, saving space when they are not in use.
