What's the difference between powder-coated and hot-dip galvanised finishes?
HAY Palissade comes in five different powder-coated coloured finishes: olive, anthracite, iron red, sky grey and cream white. The powder-coating is extremely durable, weather resistant and creates a flat, highly pigmented surface. This option looks very contemporary and is great for everyday use in urban and country areas.
The hot-dip galvanised finish is created by dipping the aluminium steel frame into hot molten zinc. This bonds with the steel, creating a protective outer layer that even when scratched is weather and rust resistant. This finish is metallic, with a more industrial look.
Top tip: Although both finishes are extremely durable and stand up to the typical UK climate, hot-dip galvanised is better suited to exposed or coastal settings where the corrosion resistant properties protect from rust from the salty air.
