There is nothing we like better at Holloways of Ludlow than sourcing new brands. Especially ones who are bringing something new to the table. As the warm weather amps up, we’ve been looking into new additions for our garden furniture collection and came across Italian brand, Nardi.

Nardi approach their garden furniture design with the idea that indoor and outdoor living should be seamless. It is a concept the Mediterranean lifestyle has perfected. As a family-run Italian brand, Nardi are experts in this field, creating furniture that is simple to use, durable in changing climates and grounded in the rhythms of everyday life.

Since the company’s beginning in 1990, Nardi design and manufacture their products entirely in Italy. Their collections reflect a lifestyle centred around time spent outdoors. Whether that’s a quiet morning on a terrace or a long, informal dinner with friends, their furniture is built to support those moments without any unnecessary complication.

Designed for Real Outdoor Living

What sets Nardi apart is how directly their designs respond to real use. Their collections use high-quality fibreglass polypropylene resin to create pieces that are incredibly strong and durable against everyday use, yet surprisingly lightweight and easy to move.

There are a huge number of benefits to using this material in their designs:

- Effortless versatility – Most Nardi chairs are stackable and lightweight, making layouts easy to reconfigure or store when not in use. The designs are created to be used often, whatever the occasion.

- Total weather resistance – Unlike traditional materials, resin Nardi creates can handle exposure to sun, rain and coastal conditions without requiring ongoing maintenance. It does not rust, peel or fade, giving you peace of mind that your garden furniture will keep looking its best, season after season.

- Anti-static advantage – A small but significant detail that is often overlooked by other brands, Nardi garden furniture is anti-static. We love this feature, as no one likes a static shock when moving your furniture and no annoying “cling” of clothes when you stand up from your chair.

Colour, Atmosphere and the Italian Influence

There’s a clear sense of the Mediterranean in Nardi’s colour palette. Their designs come in a huge range of colours, from warm terracotta tones to softer greens and classic neutrals. Tones that are reminiscent of sun-soaked scenes often seen in rural spaces or vibrant Italian towns.

Rather than formal or overly structured layouts, Nardi’s furniture lends itself to relaxed, adaptable spaces. Seating can be effortlessly moved to follow the sun, and tables extended when extra guests arrive. Designs have a playful edge, inviting people to gather, sharing a meal, conversations or laughs late into the night.

An Active Approach to Sustainability

Nardi’s approach to sustainability is practical rather than performative. Their manufacturing process is a "closed-loop" system where scrap materials are reground and reused. Furthermore, every Nardi product is 100% recyclable at the end of its long life.

The resin used is non-toxic, BPA-free, and phthalate-free, ensuring it is safe for both your family and the environment. In 2019, they took this a step further with the Regeneration Programme – a dedicated line made from post-consumer recycled plastic.

Collections in the Regeneration Programme are produced in a plant powered entirely by solar energy, using energy-efficient technology and minimal water. The colours used are also eco-friendly, using earthy and natural tones. Even the packaging is fully recyclable.

Key pieces in Nardi’s Regeneration Programme include:

- The Cassia chair collection: including the Cassia ArmchairCassia Bistrot Chair and Cassia Stool.

- The Tiberina chair collection: including the Tiberina Armchair and Tiberina Bistrot Chair

- The Tevere table collection: All sizes of the Tevere Extendable Dining Table.

How to Style Nardi Garden Furniture

Nardi garden furniture suits a wide range of outdoor settings, from private gardens and terraces to commercial spaces such as cafés and hotels. Its durability and ease of maintenance make it particularly useful in high-use environments, while the thoughtful designs ensure the space feels stylish and vibrant.

A nod to the Mediterranean: Pair the Nardi Net Armchairs in Senape (mustard) or Terra with a rustic wooden table and terracotta pots filled with lavender to recreate a Tuscan villa feel.

A narrow urban balcony: Choose our pre-made Nardi Cassia Bistro Set. The design is modern, lightweight and streamlined, with a small footprint. This works perfectly in small spaces and looks great in urban environments.

The family garden: The Rio Extendable Table is a game-changer for growing families. Pair it with stackable Trill Bistrot Chairs for a durable, easy-to-clean setup that handles spilt drinks and heavy use with ease.

Showroom tip: To finish off your garden layout, pair Nardi garden furniture with some portable outdoor lighting, perfect for versatile changing layouts. We recommend the Fermob Balad Portable Rechargeable Lamp. The colours tone in almost perfectly with Nardi’s palette.

Their collections are designed to improve people’s lives, making outdoor living effortless and stylish.
