Based in the frosty landscapes of Jääli in Northern Finland, Lovi is a forward-thinking design brand that turns premium, sustainable birch plywood into captivating 3D wooden creations. Deeply rooted in Nordic craft traditions, the brand takes its primary design inspiration from the shapes, textures, and fluid lines found across the local subarctic forests. From sculptural, leafy pine trees to delightfully characterful birds and woodland animals, each piece is designed to celebrate the organic silhouettes of nature while offering an engaging, puzzle-like hands-on assembly experience that requires absolutely no glue or specialised tools.
Every single product in the collection is manufactured inside the brand's very own zero-waste Finnish factory, allowing the design team to closely manage the production process and continuously develop new ways to minimise material waste and energy use. Leftover wood is immediately repurposed for energy production, while the final pieces are either left with a beautiful natural grain finish or carefully painted by hand using non-toxic, water-based toy paints that are completely safe for your home, family, and the planet. To further reduce their environmental impact, the brand introduced entirely plastic-free consumer packaging across the entire range, making each flat-packed envelope a perfect, lightweight option to slip into the post as a unique gift.
Driven by a deep respect for global biodiversity, Lovi views their design work as a vehicle for meaningful environmental change. The company offsets its entire calculated carbon footprint through Gold Standard certified afforestation projects, and between 2009 and 2022, they funded the planting of 175,000 new trees across the globe in partnership with Eden Reforestation Projects and Finn Church Aid. By hiring local villagers in areas like Madagascar, Kenya, and Indonesia to nurture these new forests, the brand actively fights deforestation while supporting global communities.
