Named after Charles Darwin, who was educated in Shropshire, the collection reflects both local heritage and the constant pursuit of improvement.

Handmade in the UK, these luxury fabric sofas uses sustainably sourced materials to reduce its environmental footprint. The factory that produces the Darwin Sofa also makes pieces for some of the world’s best known designer sofa brands, but our family business model allows us to offer these exceptional designs with a far smaller mark up. Comfort and construction

The Darwin has been designed for everyday living. The seat cushions use a reinforced foam core, preventing the sagging (a common problem with many living room sofas encounter with prolonged use). The back cushions are filled with sustainably sourced duck feathers, offering softness and support in equal measure. For those with allergies, a hypoallergenic fibre option is also available. Frames are crafted from solid hardwood and high grade plywood, backed by a 20 year guarantee.

Each sofa is upholstered in a carefully selected range of premium fabrics exclusive to Holloways of Ludlow. We have chosen sumptuous velvet and a cozy boucle for their tactile and luxurious properties. The range of colours we have selected work in all living spaces and with a wide range of decor styles.For those seeking something specific, additional upholstery options can be sourced on request.

Matching cushions are available, either in the same upholstery or in a contrasting fabric, allowing you to tailor the look to your home. To extend the sofa’s lifespan further, we offer a reupholstery service, ensuring your modern sofa can adapt with you and remain part of your home for years to come.

The Darwin Sofa collection has been designed to suit a variety of interiors and room sizes. Options include a 3 seater sofa, 4 seater sofa and 5 seater sofa, as well as a chaise sofa available in left or right facing versions. For smaller settings or layered layouts, the range also includes a lounge chair and footstool. What size sofa do I need?

Start by deciding where the sofa will be placed in your room and measure the space. This will determine the maximum length and depth you requite. Then, think about how the sofa will be used and how many people you need it to seat. As a guide, allow at least 75cm of space per seat for comfort.

What colour sofa never goes out of style?

Neutral shades such as beige and grey are versatile and long lasting. Soft and subdued colours also work in a variety of interiors. These tones allow you to change accent colours over time. For the Dawin Collection we have chosen colours we believe will work with many different decor styles.

Do you offer returns on Sofas?

We offer returns if an order is unsuitable. You have 30 days from receipt of goods to make a return. Please check our returns policy before placing your order.
