The Ligne Roset Togo 2+ Seater Sofa is a design that needs little introduction, having defined an entire genre of informal living since Michel Ducaroy first conceived it in 1973. It was created to support a carefree way of life, moving away from the rigid structures of traditional furniture to something far more visceral and inviting. Because of its clever modular design, this piece is particularly effective when combined with other chairs or corners from the Togo range, allowing you to build a seating arrangement that fits the specific proportions of your room.
Construction is where the piece truly deviates from the norm, as it is composed entirely of three different densities of foam with no hard points or internal frames. This all-foam structure is hand-crafted in the French village of Briord, where the fabric is meticulously folded and sewn to create the characteristic ridges that give the sofa its depth. The result is a seat that provides a surprising level of support while remaining soft enough to truly sink into, ensuring that the furniture adapts to the person rather than the other way around.
Living with a Togo is about creating a grounded atmosphere that works equally well in a minimalist apartment or a more eclectic family home. Its low profile makes a room feel larger and more open, encouraging a more relaxed style of socialising. For those seeking specific finishes to match a particular interior scheme, more fabric options are available by contacting sales@hollowaysofludlow.com. It is a piece that prioritises comfort without compromise, settling into a space with a quiet, legendary authority.
