The Ligne Roset Togo Footstool is the essential companion to Michel Ducaroy’s 1973 seating collection, designed to complete the experience of total, grounded relaxation. It exists as a versatile extension of the wider range, allowing for a seamless transition from a standard seat to a full lounge configuration. By maintaining the same iconic, pleated aesthetic as the larger sofas, the footstool ensures that a modular arrangement feels cohesive and intentional, serving as both a supportive leg rest and an occasional seat for more informal gatherings.
In keeping with the rest of the collection, the footstool is entirely composed of three different densities of polyether foam, meaning there are no hard points or timber frames to interrupt the comfort. It is hand-sewn in the small French village of Briord, where the characteristic crumpled fabric is meticulously pleated to ensure the piece retains its structural integrity over decades of use. This all-foam construction makes the piece surprisingly lightweight and easy to reposition, allowing it to adapt to the changing needs of a living space without any of the bulk associated with traditional upholstered furniture.
Within a contemporary interior, the footstool sits low to the floor, helping to maintain an open and airy feel in a room while providing a tactile point of interest. It settles quietly into both traditional and modern settings, offering a functional bit of design history that prioritises a slow, comfortable way of life. For further customisation to match a specific interior scheme, additional fabric options are available through our team at sales@hollowaysofludlow.com. It is a calm, practical addition that brings a finished sense of luxury to any Togo seating landscape.
