&Tradition Ville Garden Furniture Collection

The &Tradition Ville Garden Furniture Collection brings together powder-coated steel, FSC-certified teak and woven webbing in a range designed for relaxed outdoor living. Created by Norwegian design studio Anderssen & Voll, Ville includes garden dining tables, chairs, benches, lounge chairs, a footstool, stool and smaller occasional tables.

Clean steel frames provide the structure for each piece, while teak details add warmth at the points where the furniture is touched and used. Flexible webbing creates comfortable seats and backrests without making the chairs appear visually heavy. These contrasting materials give Ville a practical, balanced character suited to patios, terraces, balconies and larger gardens.

The collection sits within the wider range of &Tradition garden furniture, bringing the brand’s approach to contemporary Scandinavian design into the open air.

Designed by Anderssen & Voll

Anderssen & Voll was founded in Oslo by Torbjørn Anderssen and Espen Voll. The studio works across furniture, lighting and home accessories, combining functional Nordic design with close attention to materials, proportions and everyday use.

Ville was designed around a principle of vertical stacking. Its frames are formed from a series of clear upright and horizontal elements, creating a strong architectural outline. Teak slats, armrests and tabletops introduce a natural contrast to the powder-coated steel.

The designers also created the &Tradition Inland Sofa Collection. While Inland is designed for indoor relaxation, both ranges demonstrate the studio’s ability to balance firm structural lines with comfortable surfaces and generous proportions.

Ville Garden Dining Tables

The Ville AV25 and AV26 garden dining tables are available in different lengths, making it possible to choose a size that suits the number of seats required and the proportions of the outdoor area. Both combine a powder-coated steel frame with a slatted teak top.

The gaps between the timber slats help rainwater drain away, while the linear tabletop reinforces the collection’s architectural appearance. The natural teak surface softens the metal frame and creates a comfortable material for outdoor dining.

Before selecting a table, measure the full dining area and allow clearance around every side. Chairs need sufficient room to be pulled away from the table, and people should be able to walk behind occupied seats. A longer table suits an open terrace, while a smaller model can work more effectively in a courtyard or narrow garden.

The Ville AV50 provides a smaller table format for drinks, books and other everyday items. It can be used between lounge chairs, beside a garden sofa or in a more compact outdoor seating area.

Explore additional sizes and materials in our complete collection of designer garden tables, including rectangular garden tables for larger dining arrangements.

Ville Garden Chairs and Benches

The Ville dining chairs use powder-coated steel frames with supportive polyester webbing. Selected versions include teak armrests, allowing customers to choose between a more minimal side chair and an armchair with warmer natural details.

The AV33 side chair can be stacked in multiples of up to eight, making it useful when seating needs to be moved or stored. This is particularly practical on smaller patios, in hospitality settings or for households that require additional chairs only when entertaining.

Ville benches continue the combination of powder-coated steel and teak. They can be paired with a dining table or positioned independently along a wall, beside a path or in a sheltered part of the garden. A bench creates flexible seating because it does not divide the available space into individual positions.

Combining chairs and a bench around the same table can make an outdoor dining arrangement feel less formal. Place the bench on the side with the clearest access and use chairs at the ends or opposite side. Browse more garden chairs with arms, garden chairs without arms and designer garden benches.

Ville Lounge Chairs and Footstools

Ville lounge chairs have a lower seat and more relaxed angle than the dining chairs. Steel frames maintain the range’s clear linear form, while woven webbing supports the body without requiring substantial upholstered cushions.

Versions with teak armrests introduce the same warm point of contact found across the dining collection. The choice between designs can be based on preferred appearance, the surrounding furniture and whether the tactile quality of timber armrests is important.

Pairing a Ville lounge chair with the AV46 footstool creates a place to recline and put your feet up. The footstool can also provide occasional seating when required. A small table beside the chair completes the arrangement and keeps drinks, books and portable lighting within reach.

The Ville AV47 stool is another flexible piece. It can be moved around a patio as extra seating or used as a compact surface where appropriate. Its small footprint makes it useful in outdoor areas where permanent furniture must be kept to a minimum.

Teak, Steel and Woven Webbing

The Ville collection is defined by the way its three principal materials work together. Powder-coated steel provides a strong frame and an even finish. Teak brings natural grain and warmth to tabletops, benches and selected armrests. Polyester webbing creates supportive seating while allowing the chairs to remain light in appearance.

Teak contains natural oils that help it perform outdoors. When exposed to the weather without regular oiling, the timber will gradually change from its original warm tone to a silver-grey patina. This colour change is natural and does not mean that the timber has failed.

If you prefer to retain the warmer appearance, clean and treat the teak using suitable outdoor furniture products, following the manufacturer’s instructions. Avoid using an aggressive pressure washer, as excessive force can damage the surface of the timber.

Powder-coated steel should be cleaned with water, mild detergent and a soft cloth. Abrasive tools and strong chemical cleaners can mark the finish. Deal with chips or deep scratches promptly, particularly in exposed or coastal locations.

Webbing can be cleaned gently with mild soapy water. Remove surface dirt before it becomes embedded and allow the material to dry fully. During prolonged periods of severe weather, storing the furniture somewhere dry or using a breathable cover will help preserve its appearance.

Choosing Between Ville and Thorvald

Both Ville and Thorvald offer complete outdoor furniture ranges from &Tradition, but they have distinct characters. Ville combines steel with teak and woven webbing, giving it a warmer and more tactile appearance. It suits gardens where timber, planting and natural surfaces play an important role.

The &Tradition Thorvald Garden Furniture Collection is constructed primarily from powder-coated steel and is recognised by its open grid pattern and curved profiles. It has a lighter café-inspired character that works particularly well on urban terraces and courtyards.

Choose Ville if you prefer the contrast of natural timber and metal. Thorvald may be the stronger option if you want an all-steel collection with open surfaces and sculptural curves. Both ranges include dining and lounge pieces that can be combined into coordinated outdoor layouts.

Styling the Ville Collection

Ville is available in dark, nature-led finishes that work effectively with timber decking, stone paving, brick and planting. Bronze green blends with foliage, while warm black creates a stronger outline against pale walls and paving.

The dining furniture can anchor a larger terrace, while a lounge chair and footstool create a quieter seating area away from the main table. In a smaller garden, using furniture from one collection helps create visual consistency without adding unnecessary decorative elements.

Plan lighting at the same time as the furniture. Fixed outdoor wall lights can illuminate the surrounding area, while portable lamps add softer light directly to tables and seating. Browse our designer outdoor portable lighting for rechargeable designs that can be moved as required.

The &Tradition VP Flowerpot Collection includes portable lamps that can add a rounded form and a more decorative accent beside Ville’s linear frames. Check each light’s individual outdoor-use rating before placing it outside.

Can &Tradition Ville furniture be left outside?
Ville is designed for outdoor use, with powder-coated steel, teak and outdoor-suitable webbing. Regular cleaning and protection during prolonged severe weather will help preserve it. Use a breathable furniture cover or store pieces somewhere dry when possible.
Does Ville teak require regular treatment?
Teak can be left untreated, in which case it will gradually develop a silver-grey patina. If you want to retain its warmer golden tone, clean and treat it periodically with a suitable teak-care product, following the product instructions.
Are Ville garden chairs stackable?
The Ville AV33 side chair can be stacked in multiples of up to eight. Stackability varies between chair models, so check the specifications of the exact Ville chair before ordering if storage space is a priority.
What is the difference between Ville dining chairs and lounge chairs?
Ville dining chairs have a more upright seat height designed for use at a dining table. Ville lounge chairs sit lower and provide a more relaxed position for informal seating. A lounge chair can be combined with the matching AV46 footstool.
How should I clean Ville garden furniture?
Use a soft cloth, water and mild detergent on the powder-coated steel and webbing. Clean teak with a suitable soft brush or cloth in the direction of the grain. Avoid abrasive cleaners and high-pressure washing, which may damage the surfaces.
Does Ville garden furniture require assembly?
Assembly requirements vary by product. Larger tables are more likely to require some assembly for delivery, while many chairs arrive ready to use. Check the individual product information before ordering and follow the supplied assembly instructions.
