Design House Stockholm Frame Shelf

The Frame Shelf is an open shelving system designed by Harald Hermanrud for Design House Stockholm, created to display the objects that matter most rather than simply store them away. Its transparent construction keeps spaces feeling open, making it equally at home against a wall, behind a sofa, as a room divider or standing freely within a room.

Crafted entirely from wood, the shelving is formed from profiled sections that interlock with carefully considered joinery, creating a structure that feels light while remaining sturdy. The grid is designed so that shelves, trays and boxes can be repositioned without tools, allowing the layout to change over time. Exposed solid brass rivet nuts add a subtle point of detail while making the construction itself part of the design.

Frame works well for displaying books, artwork, ceramics, plants or collected objects, giving you the freedom to arrange and rearrange each section as your collection evolves. The open framework allows larger pieces to extend beyond the grid, creating a display that feels personal rather than prescribed. It is a considered shelving system that rewards creativity and adapts naturally to changing interiors.
