Design House Stockholm Layer Sideboard with Legs

The Layer Sideboard with Legs by Mathieu Gustafsson for Design House Stockholm explores the balance between revealing and concealing. Part of the Layer Collection, it combines clean geometry with carefully placed openings that offer subtle glimpses of what is stored inside, creating a cabinet with quiet character rather than obvious decoration.

Oak veneer is arranged with alternating horizontal and vertical grain patterns to emphasise the structure of the design, while the solid oak base and legs provide a strong foundation. Sliding doors open using discreet integrated openings instead of handles, leaving the surfaces uninterrupted and allowing the natural materials and proportions to speak for themselves.

Designed for living spaces, dining rooms, offices and hospitality settings, the Layer Sideboard with Legs offers practical storage without feeling heavy in a room. The raised base gives the piece a lighter appearance, making it well suited to open interiors where thoughtful detailing and everyday function are equally important.
