In 1957, the Danish designer and manufacturer Poul Cadovius launched the shelving system, System Ultra®, as a successor to the iconic Royal System® from 1948. System Ultra® is based on the same design principle as its famous predecessor, but it has its very own visual appearance.

The highly customisable System Ultra® can be configured as a classic shelving unit, a contemporary writing desk, or a sophisticated library with cabinets and drawers. For further custom options, please contact sales@hollowaysofludlow.com.

Praised for its flexibility, the system gained notoriety in the 1960s as a shelving solution with “up to 16 million combination options.” Its space-saving and modular design offers endless possibilities for creating a personalised, modern aesthetic.

Originally manufactured in Poul Cadovius’ Danish factories and under license in over thirty countries, the System Ultra® remains a celebrated achievement in Danish furniture history. Its relaunch by dk3 in 2010 honours this legacy, reintroducing a design that continues to inspire generations with its elegance and practicality.
