Warm Nordic Gesture Dining Chair

The Gesture Dining Chair is a hallmark of Mid-Century Danish design, originally conceived in 1957 by the acclaimed architect Hans Olsen. Characterised by its welcoming, moulded silhouette, the chair features a sculptural presence that balances a sense of weight with a light, playful radiance. Its distinctive armrests are ergonomically designed to invite a relaxed posture while allowing the chair to be pulled close to a dining table or desk, making it a versatile choice for both formal dining and everyday workspace use.

The chair is crafted from high-quality materials, with a solid wood frame available in finishes including white oiled oak, teak-oiled oak, and black lacquered beech. This upholstered version features a padded seat and back, providing comfort for long conversations and extended meals. The upholstery options range from selected textiles to premium leathers, curated to highlight the chair's organic curves and 1950s heritage. Its refined craftsmanship ensures it remains a timeless investment for contemporary interiors.

Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the Gesture Dining Chair prioritises durability and function. The ergonomic construction provides consistent support, while the warm wood tones naturally complement a variety of interior styles. Whether placed around a dining table or used as an occasional seat in a kitchen or living area, the Gesture chair’s inviting form encourages a lingering, comfortable experience without the constraints of formal rigidity.
