Fredericia Spine Lounge Suite Chair

The Fredericia Spine Lounge Suite Chair has a relaxed quality that feels inviting from the moment you see it. Designed by Space Copenhagen, it was created for spaces where people are encouraged to sit back and stay a while, whether that’s a restaurant lounge, hotel setting or a more residential interior. The open sides give the chair a lighter, less formal feel, which helps it sit comfortably in a room without looking bulky.

There’s a nice contrast between the structure of the chair and the softness of the upholstery. The moulded shell provides shape and support, while the generously padded cushions make it genuinely comfortable to spend time in. The upholstery detailing is subtle, with piping that adds a bit of definition without drawing attention to itself. It feels carefully made, but never overdesigned.

The Spine Lounge Suite Chair works particularly well in spaces where comfort is important but the furniture still needs to feel considered and contemporary. It has enough presence to stand on its own, though it never dominates the room around it. Like much of Space Copenhagen’s work, it strikes a balance between comfort, craftsmanship and simplicity that feels very natural.
