Tom Raffield Urchin Wall Light | Holloways of Ludlow

The Urchin wall light sits within Tom Raffield’s Urchin Lighting Range, designed as a compact wall light that brings soft, atmospheric illumination into interior spaces. It’s shaped to feel organic and contained, offering a gentle spread of light rather than a direct or clinical beam.

Constructed from strips of sustainably sourced ash, oak or walnut, the form is carefully curved and joined with precision to create a rounded silhouette. Laser cut birch elements help hold the structure together, while subtle gaps between the timber allow light to escape and soften across surrounding surfaces. The result is a material-led design where the warmth of the wood remains central to the effect.

In use, it works well in bedrooms and living spaces where a calmer layer of light is needed. It blends easily into interiors that favour natural textures and softer architectural detailing, offering presence without overwhelming the wall it sits on.
