Carl Hansen & Son MG501 Outdoor Cuba Chair

The Carl Hansen & Son MG501 Outdoor Cuba Chair was designed by Morten Gottler in 1997 and reimagined for outdoor use with durable, natural materials. Defined by its low, open profile and sculptural folding frame, the chair brings a contemporary presence to gardens, terraces and balconies.

Crafted from untreated FSC™-certified teak, the frame is rich in natural oils and develops a characteristic patina over time. The seat is made from tightly flat-woven, weather-resistant rope, designed to support the body comfortably while remaining breathable and robust outdoors.

Lightweight and foldable, the Cuba Chair offers flexibility for outdoor living, making it easy to move, store or reposition as needed. Steel brackets add long-term durability, while the simple construction reflects Gottler’s clear, uncomplicated approach to modern lounge seating.
