Anglepoise Type 75 Mini Desk Lamp Paul Smith Edition
Part of English heritage since the 1930s, the iconic silhouette of the Anglepoise lamp has become a staple in homes around the globe. Known for their innovation and exceptional functionality, Anglepoise is a name synonymous with high-quality, precision lighting. Their lighting designs can be seen everywhere from the permanent collections of museums to the desks of visionary designers and creatives.
The story began in 1935 when British engineer George Carwardine invented the original Anglepoise design. By developing a task lamp that could be positioned exactly where needed, he fundamentally changed how we interact with light. This revolutionary mechanism was the first of its kind and mimics the fluid movement of a human arm. This impressive feat of engineering still feels remarkably modern today. This design, now celebrated as the Anglepoise Original 1227, remains in production and is a staple in Anglepoise’s lighting collection.
The Anglepoise ethos has always been to create products that are built to last. Every Anglepoise lamp comes with a lifetime guarantee, ensuring it can be repaired, reused and eventually recycled. Still a family-run business today, the brand continues to evolve through collaborations with legends in British design, including Sir Kenneth Grange, Margaret Howell and Paul Smith. Although the colours may change, the iconic Anglepoise form is always the same, proving it as a timeless design.
While their most popular design is undoubtedly the Anglepoise desk lamp, the collection’s versatility extends to every corner of the home. Whether you are looking for the focussed illumination for an Anglepoise wall light, the striking presence of an Anglepoise floor light or the balanced glow of an Anglepoise pendant, you’ll find the perfect model for your interior in our Anglepoise lighting collection.
